Yesterday we finished preparing ground and laying the lawn. It looks good, but there are 16 rolls of leftover turf to try and get rid of. Later today I will make up a few handbills to place on shopping centre notice boards. Could be lucky!
The previous owner of Helen & James’ house obviously didn’t like lawns and in several areas which we changed back to lawn he had covered the ground with old carpet and then covered the carpet with about a ton of river stones. They have just gone to a landfill site
Joan’s rose bush has had its first flower. It has a lovely scent.

Kev, Love Joan's rose, it,s beautiful. good luck with the lawn. put a notice in the paper, .Joy and i went to Manning House yesterday for high tea and a look at the old homestead . Really interesting stuff to look at, Old organs, pianos , cameras . Interesting photographs, and lots of people that I haven't seen for ages. Lesley and Janis were supposed to be there but didn't make it, Howard and Betty were serving the tea and scones, I was more interested in an ancient gum tree with a palm tree and a fruit tree growing out of the top, It must be so old,[along with everyone else that was there,}. marg
